Plan:

Fathers Day ride for those of you fathers who are not always on the minds of family and friends. If no one cares enough to supply you breakfast in bed and lavish you with gifts, then neither should we. Let's just ride for a few hours as the weather is looking good for most of Sunday. The ride route or destination is not important so long as we are riding.

Report:

The weather held out very well. It was cold early but blossomed into a fine day. Plenty of activity at the coffee shop saw a fairly large group turn up and head down to Mordialloc along Beach Road. Some left from there while some of us went back to St.Kilda via Beach Road to the Classic Car and Bike Show along Acland Street and adjacent to Luna Park. The spectator volume was very large with plenty of people arriving to look at the muscle cars, rat rods, hot rods and a small number of bikes. The real bike numbers were made up by bike riding specatators like us. This was a great venue with people taking advantage of the many eating places along Acland Street while the live band entertained patrons.

Some interesting cars like a Starsky and Hutch replica. A Blues Brothers cop car and an interesting old rat rod style HJ (1975) Holden Premier with road kill emblazoned on its drivers side front. For me the highlight was a Rat Rod style Yamaha Royal Star 1990's cruiser. As usual some spandex fool on a bicycle got mowed down by a car and the car driver will be the one getting the cop ticket even though he was probably not at fault.
