Ride To Remember Virginia Beach

The ride leading to Virginia Beach was an exceptional one. Five days of riding a huge loop from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia. Highway slab riding in this 350 mile a day minimum adventure was almost non existent. Nearly all back roads in sometimes cold, sometimes hot and sometimes rainy slippery conditions made for a great adventure leading to the Virginia Beach R2R event location. The highlight for me was meeting the only Jewish member of the "Band Of Brothers" U.S Airborn unit soldiers who fought so many savage battles all the way to their ultimate liberation of a part of the Dachau Concentration camp. The 101st Airborn actually liberated a sub camp of the Dachau main camp. On my solo ride home from Virginia Beach through Maryland to New York I passed through Washington DC and spent a wonderful day and night with my cousin (on my mothers side) Judy and her partner Bud.
