Will be leaving the BP agarage in Warragul Road just before the entrance to the Monash Fwy heading into the City at 09:00 and will then ride to Geelong and then on to Lorne. From there we will have to detour via Dean's Marsh as the Great Ocean Road is closed between Lorne & Wye River due landslides and rock slippage. back on to the Great Ocean road at Skenes Creek,From there on to the 12 Apostles, Port Fairy and then Warnabool where we will stop for the night. ( We have not booked any accomodation - we'll find something when we get there we hope ).

The route back to Melbourne has yet to be determined.

Report:

Six riders for a great day out to Western Victoria.

We started with Josh, Graham, Volvi, Rod and two guests, Rohan and Joel. We rode along the freeway then turned off after Geelong to Anglesea for a coffee stop. Then on to Lorne via one of the most spectacular roads in Australia, the Great Ocean Road. The sun was out and the weather was perfect, we stopped for Lunch at the Lorne Hotel.

We then diverted inland via Deans Marsh as parts of the road were closed due to landslides. Rod and Volvi headed back home and the rest of us continued on to Apollo Bay via Forrest through some spectacular roads through the Otway Forrest.

The rain fell hard as we hit Port Campbell and it was a very wet final hour of Riding as we headed to Warrnambool.

We had a chance to dry off and had a great meal and good night’s sleep at the Cally Hotel in Warrnambool.

Then next day we had wet weather gear ready to go again. We had breakfast in Camperdown and then diverted of the main highway via Foxhow Rd towards Cressy. We had a great run with long open stretches of road all to ourselves past some spectacular lakes and canola plantations. We then took the Hamilton Highway to Geelong and then straight home.

It was great ride with a mix of weather and enjoyed by everyone that came along.

Josh.
